Retreat in Daily Life (RIDL) is a Diocesan program sponsored by The School of Spiritual Direction. The daily retreat helps participants realize the closeness and profound love of God, and helps them find their role in God’s Kingdom.
RIDL is a 500-year-old prayer journey based on the spiritual exercises of St. Ignatius, founder of the Jesuits. A significant number of people in our Diocese have participated in this eight-month retreat. The common response from them is, “It was life changing!” Sessions will be held in the Parlor and are for registered participants only.

Back by popular demand.  St. John's will provide the pancakes and members will bring potluck items to complement the pancakes as we celebrate Shrove Tuesday (Fat Tuesday in Mardi Gras) the evening before Ash Wednesday.  As this is the last day of the Christian liturgical season historically known as Carnival or Shrovetide, before the penitential season of Lent, related popular practices, such as indulging in food that one might give up as their Lenten sacrifice for the upcoming forty days, are associated with Shrove Tuesday celebrations.  So come, eat hardy and be ready to start Lent with the Ash Wednesday service at 7:00 pm on March 5.

On the first Wednesday of every month, you are invited to celebrate the Eucharist at 5:30 pm in the Lady Chapel.  All are welcome.

The Brotherhood meets on the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 a.m. to pray for St. John’s and the spread of Christ's kingdom, especially among men and youth, and for God's blessings upon the labors of the Brotherhood.

The Daughters of the King meet every second Sunday of the month for the Healing Service and Holy Unction at the Altar Rail, immediately after the church service. During this brief service, the Daughters offer healing prayers and intercession for all those who desire. The Healing Service is followed by the monthly meeting and lunch for the DOK in the parlor.

During Lent, we begin our Wednesday evenings with a walk through the Stations of the Cross at 5:30 pm in the Nave.  This is followed by a potluck supper and, on March 12, "storytelling" by a few long-time members of St. John's who will share some wonderful stories from our past.  A great family evening. The Stations of the Cross start at 5:30 and are a wonderful way to introduce children to the path Jesus took to the Cross through the Resurrection of Christ.  Potluck served at 6:00 pm in Wade Dalton Hall with program at 6:30.
